Hertfordshire-based logistics firm SMA Worldwide is celebrating after achieving its FORS Silver accreditation.
The Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is an accreditation that aims to improve standards in the UK road transport industry. SMA, is part of Palletways UK, Europe’s largest express palletised freight network, and is responsible for palletised collections and deliveries across Hertfordshire. SMA achieved FORS Bronze accreditation five years ago and last year decided to confidently work towards FORS Silver which it achieved in just four months.
The voluntary standard requires operators to demonstrate improvements in fleet safety, environmental impact and efficiency, as well as a solid foundation in compliance.
Dr Attia, Chairman and CEO of SMA Worldwide, said: “The FORS silver accreditation sends out a strong signal to our customers large and small that we’re committed to continuous improvement and setting high standards across all our operations. This higher level of accreditation enhances our compliance and drives us forward in constantly refining our processes and performance. Our Silver achievement is testament to our team’s hard work and dedication throughout the process.”
SMA Worldwide offers a range of courier and logistics services, including worldwide air and sea freight, secure storage and warehousing and UK and European pallets. Based at Langley Waters, in Kings Langley, its specialist services include professional packaging and marine insurance. Deliveries are all tracked and visible to customers.
Warwick Trimble, network director for Palletways UK, adds: “This accreditation is a fantastic accolade for SMA and testament to its objective of continuously meeting and often exceeding the required standards. For customers it reaffirms that they’ve chosen a partner committed to delivering a great service, and it opens doors to new customers who are looking for a reliable and reputable logistics partner.”
